I notice that 3D Connexion products have frequent price discount offers coming up over recent months and wonder if that indicates not only a s;aceball slow-down, but also feeling a cold wind from the new competition. Please type your message and try again.
I had an old Genius keyboard with multimedia keys made before Windows officially supported multimedia keys so they were codified in a non standard way.
Also, if you are going to ” look elsewhere ” no one else does a similar thing. I did have to use the vista 64 bit spaceball software there is no software updates for windows 7 64bit. Are you saying that the Space Controller drivers work with the older up Connexion serial type Spaceballs? This content has been marked as final. But since I install SW I’m no more able to configure the button but the 3D control still working.
So I wonder if this is a spin-off company set up, generated by people who were in uzb original development team and who believed they could do better for their customers than under instruction from their 3D Connexion owners, who I believe took them over earlier in the company’s history.
Since that sapceball happened, so much of the original product line-up has been changed and made redundant.

That process appears to be continuing onward with their current range. If I do purchase new devices, I will look elsewhere. That would be good news for all those people with those rather expensive serial connected paperweights.
My multimedia keys are working again in Windows 8.

Styling, detailing and functionality are closely linked. So their being made redundant due to OS and software upgrades was a financial loss to us and many other small or large customers.
They just offer better support for there controllers. I’d rather support Space Control in there efforts to get and keep tools in the hands of there customers. Now I have Windows 8.
I found one company that offers much better support, Space Controller out of Germany.

Let us hope that it works to improve matters with them, so that everybody benefits, whether they remain loyal or start purchasing the Space Controller products instead. I’ve looked at the Space Controller site and their products have a distinct relationship with those at 3D Connexion. With that being the case, then Space Controller being around and active looks good for users of this type of technology. That clarifies it, although it does dash the hopes that arose when reading your original post.
