I moved to an R5 with a stiff shaft — better, but still producing those high balls that start moving right and pick up major speed, throwing me into a hazard or OB. Had to practice a bit with it but once i figured it out I know can draw, hit it straight and still fade when I need to. Hit another, same result.

Trust me I am not a long ball hitter and I definitely fade the ball [and slice at times] but this new draw driver is amazing.

TaylorMade r7 Draw Driver Review

Found this thing in the lost and found. Now I wonder if there is a way to adjust the weight in the club head to eliminate the hook and posibily hit the ball ttaylormade again. I havent played in three years due to kids. Although it has not got rid of my slice completely and I still throw in a quick one every now and then but my consistency, accuracy and distance have been increased dramatically.

They are a consistent driver count leader on the PGA Tour. My iron play was poor yesterday on the back nine — bad back not helping — and I took a 6 at a par 3 and an 8 on a par 4 hit irons into woods on both occasions. After reading these reviews I am very excited to see what happens!

I can say that I am getting more height and taulormade a bit more length dfaw I was getting with my old driver. I do not have any problem getting the ball into the air, even with a firm tipped shaft. Why fork out loads of money on the newest club available when you can pick this gem up for a pittance in golfing terms.


Technique is of course of primary importance and not equipment.

The lightweight shaft 55 grams makes it easier to get the club through impact. Just beware taylormxde the massive hook when you first start out. My personal experience is limited with this club.

After all the discussion…. The bottom line is that it is not me, its the technology in the driver.

I had a pretty bad fade and hit it really low but now with a 9 degree R7 I hit it much higher and at drsw 25 to 30 yards further with a very slight fade. Like the r7 and r7the r7 Draw has a very slick and attractive look to it. In our tests, a natural gentle fade was straightened up and a straight shot turned into a nice gentle draw.

Deal of the century. I just ordered the driver in the 9 degree reg and the 3 wood as well. I can count on it 9 out of 10 times to stay straight. The only draw back is that I have to leave the face open when I set up. In comparison, my Titleist T has a Grafalloy Blue shaft that weighs 63 grams and the TaylorMade r7 features shafts ranging anywhere from grams.
