If you put a big outside-in swing on it, the FT-i is still capable of peeling a nice banana for you. I wasn’t a huge fan of the FT-3, i felt it felt flimsy through impact and the sound of club on ball was also a put off. Do i hit every fairway-no of course not- but i hit most of them and the baduns dont kill me anymore. Next shaft was a stiff prolaunch red and while this did lower the ball flight and probably the spin rates i didnt feel like the shaft combined well with the ft5. The price has now dropped due to the new IQ coming out but I will be thrilled to try my club in the spring. Sound is better than the FT3, but to be honest, it wasn’t worth the extra money upgrading, not for me anyway – the FT3 is still the one. I think there is some negative bias toward this club because, frankly, pulling out a square driver is sort of like singing in the library.

It is long and doesn’t stray far offline even on less than perfect swings. How does the FT-5 compare with the FT-3?

Same with the Rapture which I consistently hit 15 yards further than the FT-i. The first was hit in the center and went down the middle.
I am looking for the lowest spinning head on the market. Will try to post afterwards. Unfortunately our season ended abruptly so I hit the club only one round. I have not used the driver at the range in last months. So i think the technology helped, but for me there was a psychological factor too not to be neglected in golf.
Still forgiving with mishits, but lots lost in terms of yardage off the tee…. I never hit so many fairways in all my life.
Taylor Made M3 The 9 Degree Stiff, Draw version seemed to fit my swing better than the Neutral, which had a more consistent slice. Cxllaway assertive in this request. The difference is I have no fear of the left shot and I hit high straight bombs or a little fade.

But more importantly, now consistently hitting even more fairways. The price is much more attractive vs. The noise at impact is different from Titanium drivers, but easy to get used to, and not as offensive as some caplaway drivers.
Particular swings matched to different components shafts, grips, head, and ballsthere are so many variables that can be overlooked and never discovered do to the costs of experimentation.

Then I could finally sell my ft3. I bought myself a second hand 11 degree ft-5 with draw bias and today drove one yards I kid you not. This combo straight away upped my carry distance by about 25yds. Played my first round with it, and I made the right decision.

Glad you found something good. It came with a Fujikura Speeder shaft that I purchased in R flex.
It hits straight, far and sounds like a car crash when you hit it. I first had an ft5 13 ff5 some 7 years ago and hit it just fine-cant to this day understand why i sold it? Can’t find a single thing to complain about. Which one is easier to shape the ball?
