I have the same problem with my dvea. While the OS was installing I did a little search on google dv500 that reminded me of a post on Tech Republic that talked about 10 tools to connect to wireless networks in Linux so I decided to try out each of them to see which one worked for me.

Hibernate works only from the command line. It seems ljnux suspend successfully, but on booting it stays on a black screen no back-light and seems to be stuck. So what are the symptoms on the wireless? Suspend to RAM still does not work.
